VAS:T 2015 | Scottish Royal Academy

Visual Arts Scotland presents VAS:T 2015, taking full advantage of having the entire upper gallery at the RSA to address their refocused mission to consider the relationship between applied art and contemporary arts

Our vision for Visual Arts Scotland is to become an influential destination for contemporary makers, designers and craftspeople to test and showcase their work and for the public to engage with contemporary design practices. We also want it to be for artists of all shapes and sizes to consider ways they might interface and collaborate with traditional crafts and contemporary processes to transform and shape their work – not to protect traditional crafts and techniques, but to embrace its possibilities within a world of digital manufacturing and mass production aligned to the bespoke one off hand crafted artefact.
